Dr Emily Ventre
Clinical Psychologist
My name is Emily Ventre, a Clinical Psychologist based in Brentford, West London. I offer sessions in person and online.
I have training up to a doctorate level and am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I have over 12 years experience of working with adults, teenagers and children with a range of difficulties. I use an integrative approach in therapy but tend to lean towards a compassion focused, trauma and attachment informed way of working.
I am passionate about helping people to understand their distress as an understandable response to their experiences, as well as helping to relieve this distress using evidence based approaches.
In our sessions I will provide a compassionate and non judgemental space to make you feel safe and supported.
I am also a mum of two and am passionate about supporting parents with the complex emotions that can arise during this life stage.

Experience
During my career, I have worked in NHS, local authority and charity settings where I have supported adults and children with a range of mental health difficulties. This includes work in fostering and adoption services, adult community mental health teams and physical health services.
Within these roles and throughout my training I have learnt to use a number of evidence based therapies to support individuals in a meaningful way. The models that I tend to use most effectively in therapy are compassion focused and trauma/attachment informed, however I will always work with the individual client to identify their therapy needs and which models might be helpful in our work together.

My Areas of Expertise and Interest
Having completed doctoral level training in Clinical Psychology, I have extensive training to support both children and adults using a range of evidence based approaches.
I am particularly passionate about supporting individuals to understand how their earlier experiences and relationships have shaped the way that they experience their world. I place great emphasis on understanding this from a compassionate and non-judgmental place as I am passionate about understanding our distress as an understandable response to the experiences we have had. Once we have understood this, I will support you to make changes to alleviate the emotional difficulties you have been experiencing.
The areas that I can support with include:
-
Anxiety and shame
-
Low mood, stress and burnout
-
Developmental trauma
-
Relational difficulties
-
